| 1883 | American National Bank (now Regions) opens on Union Street in Nashville |
| 1916 | American National Bank helps East Nashville rebuild after the worst fire in Nashville history destroyed 800 homes |
| 1925 | Anchored by the headquarters of American National, Union Street in downtown Nashville becomes known as “Wall Street of the South” |
| 1930 | At the request of the Federal Reserve Bank following the 1929 stock market crash, American National acquires Fourth & First National Bank, protecting customer deposits and helping to stabilize Nashville’s banking industry |
| 1950 | American National rebrands as First American National Bank |
| 1961 | First American opens its distinctive “Golden Dome” branch at 51st Ave and Charlotte Ave. Still in operation today, it is the longest continually operating bank branch in Nashville |
| 1971 | During construction of First American’s new headquarters building, a fossilized saber-toothed tiger skull is unearthed. This later becomes the inspiration for the mascot for the NHL’s Nashville Predators |
| 1996 | First American is instrumental in bringing the NFL’s Houston Oilers to Nashville, where they became the Tennessee Titans |
| 2006 | Following AmSouth’s acquisition of First American in 1999, Regions and AmSouth Bank merge, forming the modern Regions Bank |
| 2023 | Regions celebrates its 140th Anniversary in Nashville. Regions has been serving Nashville longer, with more branches in more neighborhoods, than any other bank |
